
Overview:
Benjamin Moore is a manufacturer of high quality paints and finishes. Its products are distributed through a network of knowledgeable, customer-friendly retail store operators. More than 4,000 strong, these retail stores in turn provide trade credit to thousands of contractors, interior designers and other professionals involved in a variety of commercial and residential projects.
Situation:
Like many wholesalers, Benjamin Moore found it difficult to extend credit to the many small businesses they do business with. Managing the numerous accounts and the credit risk associated with the existing trade credit portfolio also provided to be a challenge from an administrative and expense perspective.
After implementing one private-label credit card program that did not completely meet their needs, the company was looking for a new partner. Specifically, they were interested in increased flexibility, the best terms possible for their customers and a complete private label trade credit program solution. Benjamin Moore partnered with GreenSky and together the two companies created the "Benjamin Moore Preferred Commercial Account."
Results:
Since partnering with GreenSky, the Benjamin Moore Preferred Commercial Account program has enjoyed huge success. Many of the independent Benjamin Moore retailers are participating and hundreds of new Benjamin Moore Preferred Commercial account credit cards have been issued each month. Even in the current economic environment, the program has been growing which has benefited both Benjamin Moore, its retailers and customers.
